A FAMILY LEGACY.

A LABOR OF LOVE.

WELCOME TO CHERRY RUNN LODGE

The lodge stands as a symbol of local history, elegance, and natural charm, making it an idyllic destination for unforgettable events and peaceful getaways.

The lodge was originally built in 1923 for the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Co. (R & P). It served as a campground for company executives and their families.

Jason’s father, David Buggey, played a massive role in additional renovations for R & P with his construction company, Buggey and Morganti (B & M) Remodeling. In 1989, Dave and his crew built the addition of the lodge that now includes the dance floor, bar area, and wrap-around balcony.

The lodge and its 22 acres would go through multiple owners and serve different purposes (a campground, an event venue, and a residence) from the 90s until 2019, when it was sold to David’s son, Jason Buggey, and his family. Not only would it be owned by this family, but Jason would follow in his father’s footsteps and build a masterpiece addition of his own - right beside his father’s work.

“When we look at the historic, green, original lodge - we see the work of Dave Buggey’s hands. When we look at its new neighbor, The Eagles Nest, established in 2023, we see the work of Jason Buggey’s hands honoring his father. This addition is about twice the size of the lodge and received the nickname, “Noah’s Ark,” during the building process.”

A beautiful bench was crafted by Kris Kinter and his son in memory of Dave Buggey, his work, and his life (1951- 2022). It can be found on a chiseled stone base outside of the lodge, facing the Eagles Nest.

“We (The Buggeys) have had ownership of CRL since 2019 and have worked hard to carry the torch of the wishes of owners before us - to make this venue a place of great character and integrity. A place full of joy. A place so special and unique that people report never seeing or experiencing anything like it before. A place where people remember what matters most in life.

So, needless to say, we adore this place… and we hope you do, too.”

God Bless,
